A vertical forest in Nanjing China are able to produce around 132 pounds of oxygen daily. They are called Nanjing Towers, designed by a famous architect Stefano Boeri. As soon as its complete in 2018, it will be the first vertical forest in Asia. Each of the tower stands 656 feet and 354 feet. And between each tower have 1000 trees, 2500 shrubs and 23 variety of local species.
These aren’t the first vertical forests that Stefano has designed however. Two have already been built in Milan and similar buildings have been planned for Lausanne, Switzerland. In an increasingly polluted world, these green designs are a real breath of fresh air.
