The promising child star twins blossom amazingly to young adults. Since six months old they were already stars in the big screen. Look at what they look like now!
1. The babies make it big in 1987.
At just six months old, Mary Kate and Ashley were cast as Michelle Tanner on the ABC family sitcom Full House
2. By 1989 they were already growing into America’s favorite toddlers.
Sharing the role of the youngest Tanner girl, the twin sisters were making audiences everywhere melt with their adorable antics and happy attitudes.
3. They were on top of the world by the early ’90s.
As they got older and learned how to speak and memorize lines, their role on Full House got even bigger and better. It wasn’t long until storylines were written to showcase their talent.
4. They land their first non-Full House gigs in 1992.
The twins started spreading their wings and boy could they fly. They recorded their first album Brother For Sale and also starred in their very first film To Grandmothers House We Go.
5. The girls take Full House to the top in ’93.
As Michelle Tanner grew into the show’s most popular character, so too did the show’s ratings. The world simply could not get enough of Mary-Kate and Ashley.
6. Mary-Kate and Ashley move to bigger, better things in 1995.
With Full House coming to an end after eight seasons, many of the cast members’ futures were unknown. Not the Olsen twins’ though. That same year they filmed their first major motion picture It Takes Two, starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley.
7. The two keep busy for the remainder of the ’90s.
The following years were filled with TV movies, music videos and short-lived television series. But as Mary-Kate and Ashley continued to grow up, their sights were set on new adventures.
8. In 2001 the girls find their new passion.
While still starring in their own television programs and film projects, the twins decide to take a chance and create their own fashion line.
9. After several failed television shows and film projects, the girls leave film.
2004 was the last time the two ever appeared onscreen together. The years before were filled with failed projects such as The Challenge, So Little Time and New York Minute.
10. By 2006 the twins had become fashion icons.
The twins were signed as the faces of Badgley Mischka in 2006, and in 2007 created their own line, Elizabeth & James.
11. At the top of the fashion world in 2012.
Just five years after launching their own line, the twins are named the Womensewear Designers of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. I guess they don’t need acting after all!
The girls are still running their own fashion lines and are currently considered some of the most recognized designers in the world. They’ve come a long way since yelling “You got it dude!” at Uncle Jesse…
