National Geographic released the results of distinguished 2016 Nature PhotoGrapher of the Year contest. The competition have captivated thousands of entries from photographers worldwide. Judges of the competition include Kathy Moran senior photo editor of National Geographic, Jim Brandenburg and Joe Riis magazine’s photographers. There are four criteria of the images – landscapes, animal portraits, environmental issues and action.
Environmental issues. First Winner – Life And Death, Svalbard And Jan Mayen
Landscape. Honorable Mention – Serendipitous Green Meteor, India
Landscape: Third Place – Pacific Storm, Pacific Ocean
Landscape: First Place – Struggle Of Life, Netherlands
Animal Portraits: Grand Prize – Sardine Run, South Africa
Action: Second Place Winner – Approach, Wray, Colorado
